Hallowe’en en Alyanub

Hallowe’en en Alyanub

Tomorrow it will be Hallowe’en and here at I.E.S Alyanub we are proud to say that we will make sure that everybody enjoys it to the max! The school has been decorated with fake cobwebs and pictures done by pupils of the school. Also students from educación infantil have been working on their own decorations and they look great! On top of all this, for the pupils from the 1st and 2nd year of ESO there will be activities in the two playgrounds in the last three hours of class this wednesday. In one playground there will be a gymakana and in the other there will be a treasure hunt and other activities. To everybody in the 1st and 2nd year of ESO: we hope you enjoy yourselves!

Although in Spain we don’t tradicionaly celebrate Hallowe’en we have started to celebrate it more and more, especialy in the Andalucia region. Hallowe’en originated in England and traveled to America when the protestants emigrated to the New World. Originaly Hallowe’en is the night before “all saints day” which is the 31st of octobre and in the pre-Christian era it was New Years Eve. It was believed that on this day all the souls of those who had died that year came back to the land of the living to say goodbye one last time.
